The following pictures were provided by Russ Ogle who came abord the Raton in July 1960 as an undesignated striker and left in April 1962 as EN3(SS).  You can read about Russ in Whatever Happened to....page.
After leaving San Diego for WestPac on 3 July 1961 we stopped in Pearl during which we underwent refresher training in the escape tower in the background.  I believe the red flag and hose indicated we are taking on fuel.  I hope someone recognizes the individual standing next to the after engineroom hatch.
Commanding Officer H. E. Phelps (in white t-shirt) and unidentified officer on the bridge sometime after leaving Pearl and heading west to Japan.  The name of the sailor facing the skipper appears to be "Hanstag".
